Research Interests

Jorge is interested to understand the intricate links between intermediary metabolism and epigenetics. In the Chromatin Biochemistry lab he is studying how the transient presence of enzymes of intermediary metabolism affects histone modifications. Jorge is using different techniques like genome-editing using CRISPR-Cas9 and imaging through STED microscopy to delve in the molecular mechanisms of these processes.
