MSc student in Bioscience

Alumni

Research Interests

Aljoharah broadly interested in dissecting the fundamentals of epigenetic control of genome regulation and organization. She believes that understanding these mechanisms, this knowledge can be utilized to develop  targeted therapeutics of diseases including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders.

She currently works with other lab members on understanding the role of phase separation of Heterochromatin proteins 1 (HP1) in the formation of heterochromatin in vitro, using molecular biology and in vitro biochemistry approaches, as a part of lab’s work on genome organization.
