Welcome to the lab Amin Guo

14 March, 2024

Amin Guo has joined Prof. Wolfgang’s group as a postdoctoral fellow to explore the morphological changes of chromatin in different states using high-resolution imaging methods. She specializes in high-resolution 2D and 3D imaging of large biological samples using coherent X-ray diffraction imaging, as well as structural analysis of tiny organelles using TEM and Cryo-EM. She will use C. elegans embryo as a research model to conduct high-resolution imaging of chromatin organization compartments.

Amin completed her master's and PhD in biological imaging at ShanghaiTech University. During her PhD, she characterized the pathway of insulin synthesis, aggregation, and secretion in pancreatic β cells and conducted high-resolution three-dimensional imaging of insulin vesicles. Additionally, she developed high-resolution imaging and quantitative analysis methods for intracellular nanoparticles using breast cancer cells as models.

“The Chromatin Biochemistry Lab, led by Professor Wolfgang, has an amazing diversity of cultures and educational models. I am honored to join this outstanding team and explore scientific issues with a group of intelligent researchers. This excellent platform will bring unlimited possibilities for my research.”
