Congratulations Dr Elizabeth Miller

18 December, 2020

The Fischle lab proudly announces the graduation of the first PhD candidate at KAUST, Dr. Elizabeth Miller. Elizabeth has started with us already at the MPI-bpc in Goettingen doing MSc work within the International Max Planck Research School for Molecular Biology. She then made the transition to KAUST being one of the key few lab members who made the move in 2015. At KAUST Elizabeth continued her studies of a key chromatin regulatory protein in the model organism C. elegans, the HP1 ortholog HPL-2. In her thesis defense she covered how she investigated different splicing variants of HPL-2 determining their molecular working mechanisms. The thesis committee was very impressed with the thoroughness of the experimental work and the skillful presentation. Well done Dr.Miller! Elizabeth has now moved to London and we are wishing her all the best for her future career.
