Welcome to the lab Ahlem Boudellioua

30 November, 2020

Ahlem is Algerian by heart despite the fact she has never lived there. Although she spent most of her adult life in Oman she started her primary education in Saudi Arabia and will be finishing it here with a PhD. Ahlem first joined the CBC laboratory in October 2019 as an intern following the completion of her MSc but she has now been accepted as a PhD student in Bioengineering.

"I studied pure Computer Science for both my BSc and MSc; and one course in bioinformatics made me realize that I want to dive head first in this field. I am interested in applying computational methods to analyze and model the 3D structure of the genome by focusing on the role played by the compartments in the folding of the chromatin. Since day one, I was very amazed by the diverse nature of the CBC lab, whether by the members’ educational backgrounds or their cultures; and I felt the need to be among this group of brilliant minds that will only motivate me to give more and push my limits."
